LIVERPOOL PRIMARY CARE TRUST WELCOMES PUBLIC HEALTH EXPERTS TO THE CITY - 20/06/08
Public health experts from all across the UK are in Liverpool this week to see first hand some of the groundbreaking initiatives being delivered by Liverpool Primary Care Trust (PCT).
The UK Public Health Association (UKPHA) delegates are being welcomed to the city at an alcohol free drinks reception hosted by the PCT.
This raises awareness about the PCTs award winning Pssst! campaign but also proves that corporate events are possible without alcohol.
Liverpool can justly claim to be the home of public health as the birthplace of leading pioneers including Kitty Wilkinson and Dr Duncan, the city’s first Medical Officer for Health.
Dr Paula Grey, Director of Public Health for Liverpool said: ”This forum, with more than a thousand delegates attending, provides us with the perfect opportunity to highlight some of the groundbreaking work we are doing in Liverpool in the field of public health.
“The successful Pssst! campaign, Active City, Taste for Health and Roy Castle Fag Ends are all playing their part in making Liverpool a healthier place to live and work.”
